Estimated time: 10–15 minutes · Goal: identify your plan’s strength and a practical next step.
Look at the whole again
Place your original mood words beside the palette. Do your choices express them? Take a short break if helpful. This lesson is available immediately; waiting until tomorrow is optional.
Example refinement
A terracotta cushion and a large terracotta curtain began to compete in the reading corner. The designer kept the small cushion, chose a sand-coloured curtain and repeated terracotta in a small pot. They changed one thing at a time and compared the result with the original intention.
Final checklist
- The space has one clear purpose and three mood words.
- The retained floor or furniture has been considered.
- Base, support and accent have distinct roles.
- Textures create enough variation without every surface competing.
- I recorded observations under different lighting or identified an outstanding observation.
- I know which material and care questions to check before purchasing.
Self-assessment
Complete three sentences in your notes: “I learned…”, “My strongest design decision is… because…”, “Next I will check…”. Compare your abilities with the course goals. If you cannot yet explain a decision, return to lesson two and change one thing.
Finish the course
- Check that you passed the quiz and submitted the design assignment.
- Mark all four text lessons complete. Opening a page alone does not complete it.
- Return to the course page and use Complete the Course when it becomes available.
- Once the teacher has approved your assignment and the course is complete, find your private completion certificate at the end of this lesson and on the course overview page.
The certificate records completion of this practice course; it is not a qualification. An assignment awaiting review may prevent the certificate appearing even after all lessons are complete.
Put the plan to use
Choose one small next step: request a real fabric sample, compare two wall colours or rearrange existing textiles. Your most useful result is your considered plan, ready to improve through observation.
