Estimated time: 20–35 minutes · Outcome: a written colour and material concept for one space.
Your design brief
Create a three-colour palette for the space you chose in lesson one. Use existing objects or samples; no purchases are needed. The goal is a coherent concept whose choices you can explain, rather than a professional technical specification.
Example structure
“I am designing a reading corner for one adult. The mood is calm, warm and clear. I will retain the oak table. Warm white provides the wall background, sand-coloured linen supports the table and a terracotta pot supplies a small accent. In evening light the sand looked yellower than during the day. I will therefore compare a more neutral fabric sample. I will check the fabric’s care instructions before buying.”
